Drzavni zbor Republike Slovenije (National Assembly Building), Ljubljana

Parlament Slovenije is a two chamber legislative body, made up of the National Assembly (lower house) and the National Council (upper house). The parliament convenes in a modernist palace in Square of the Republic in the center of Ljubljana, built between 1954 and 1959 by Slovenian architect Vinko Glanz. An unrealized project for the Parliament, designed by architect Joze Plecnik in the late 1940s, is featured on Slovenian Euro coins. The Slovenian Parliament is characterized by an asymmetric duality, as the Constitution does not accord equal powers to both chambers.
