Huntington Place, Detroit

Huntington Place (formerly known as Cobo Hall, Cobo Center, and briefly TCF Center), located on Washington Boulevard in downtown Detroit, is a premier convention center owned by the Detroit Regional Convention Facility Authority (DRCFA) and operated by ASM Global. Originally opened in 1960 as Cobo Hall, named after former Detroit Mayor Albert Cobo, the facility has undergone several name changes, becoming TCF Center in 2019 and adopting its current name, Huntington Place, in December 2021 following corporate mergers.

Spanning 2.4 million square feet, Huntington Place offers 723,000 square feet of exhibition space, with 623,000 square feet being contiguous. A significant renovation completed in 2015 repurposed the former Cobo Arena space to include additional meeting halls, a 30,000-square-foot three-story glass atrium overlooking the Detroit River, and the 40,000-square-foot Grand Riverview Ballroom.

The convention center is well-connected, featuring its own Detroit People Mover station and several attached parking garages, including rooftop parking. It provides direct access to the Lodge Freeway and is within walking distance of numerous downtown hotels, enhancing its accessibility for visitors.

Huntington Place hosts a variety of significant events, most notably the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS), which has been held at the venue since 1965. This event attracts thousands of international press and attendees annually, solidifying the center's status as a key player in the convention and exhibition industry.
