The State Museum of Arts, Tashkent
The State Museum of Arts was founded in 1918 and exhibited only 500 items, while today it is the largest museum in Central Asia. It is a great opportunity to get acquainted with Asian art in general and particularly with the art of Uzbekistan. The museum exhibits a large collection of antique art items, among which you can find golden jewelry, embroideries, rugs and many other interesting things. The museum has a great collection of icons, painted by famous Russian painters of the 15th century. Besides Russian collections of works, there are numerous art items signed by European artists.
