Theater House Chão de Oliva (Casa de Teatro Chão de Oliva), Sintra

Theater House Chão de Oliva was founded in 1987. Its activity is focused on three directions: production, hosting and training in such fields as theater, dance, performing arts and music. Since 1999 it has its own building located in the center of the city on R. Veiga da Cunha Street. In 1990 the company created the first professional theater group in Sintra. It also participates in such national festivals as Sintra Contemporary Dance Show, Urban Music Festival, and the Puppet Theater Festival. The theater stages performances by such authors as Gil Vicente, Chekhov, Henrique da Mota, Federico Garcia Lorca, Shakespeare, Stig Dagerman, Machiavelli, Luís Vieira and others.
