Three Smiths Statue, Helsinki

The Three Smiths Statue, situated in Helsinki, is a significant piece of art embodying craftsmanship and reflecting the historical context of its setting. With financial support from Tallberg, the Pro Helsingfors Foundation donated the statue to the city of Helsinki, enriching its cultural and historical fabric.

The statue has endured the scars of war; it suffered damage during a bombing in the Continuation War in 1944. These wartime marks—a hole in the anvil caused by bomb shrapnel and other signs of damage at the base—add a poignant layer of meaning to the statue, reminding viewers of the resilience of art and history in the face of adversity.
