The Toronto Symphony Orchestra (TSO) is a renowned Canadian orchestra that has been captivating audiences with its exceptional performances for over a century. Established in 1922, the TSO has played a vital role in shaping the cultural landscape of Toronto and has become one of the country's most celebrated musical institutions.

For many years, the TSO held regular concerts at the iconic Massey Hall, creating unforgettable musical experiences for its audience. However, in 1982, the orchestra moved to its current home, Roy Thomson Hall, a magnificent venue renowned for its superb acoustics and grandeur.

In addition to its main ensemble, the TSO also nurtures and supports young talent through the Toronto Symphony Youth Orchestra (TSYO). The TSYO provides aspiring musicians with a platform to refine their skills, perform alongside seasoned professionals, and develop a deep appreciation for orchestral music.

Over the years, the TSO has been led by exceptional music directors who have brought their unique artistic vision to the orchestra. From 2004 to 2018, Peter Oundjian served as the TSO's music director, leaving a lasting impact on the ensemble's artistic direction and growth. Following Oundjian's tenure, the esteemed conductor Sir Andrew Davis assumed the role of conductor laureate and later served as the orchestra's interim artistic director.

Since the 2020–2021 season, the Toronto Symphony Orchestra has been under the leadership of Gustavo Gimeno as its music director. Gimeno, with his exceptional conducting skills and profound musicality, has infused the TSO with fresh energy and a renewed commitment to artistic excellence. Under his guidance, the orchestra captivates audiences with dynamic performances, pushing boundaries and exploring a diverse repertoire from classical masterpieces to contemporary works.
