Tulsa Cave House, Tulsa (must see)
Just as it sounds, the Cave House is built to look like a cave. Now a museum, it was originally built as the Cave Garden Restaurant in the 1920s. It was a quirky restaurant by day, but at night a secret passage through the fireplace opened up to a speakeasy located under a hill.
Sadly, the speakeasy is a thing of the past. The secret passage was sealed with concrete for safety reasons. However, visitors can still go to the Cave House to see an interesting and unique architectural wonder. The adobe home has the appearance of stalactites and stalagmites jutting from all angles both inside and out. The interior is decorated with unique art and furnishings meant to pay homage to those who lived in the home before it became a museum.
Visitors must schedule a guided tour if they would like to see inside. It is particularly popular for ghost hunters who believe a ghost who haunts the house steals vistors' keys and places them near a hill.
