Universal Studios Florida, Orlando (must see)
Opened in 1990, Universal Studios Florida is a popular theme park that inspires its guests to "ride the movies" and features numerous attractions and live shows. In 2017, the park hosted an estimated 10,198,000 visitors, ranking as the sixth most attended theme park in the United States, as well as the ninth most attended theme park worldwide.
Part theme park and part studio, the Universal Studios is made up of eight attractions: Production Central, New York City, San Francisco, World Expo, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Woody Woodpecker's Kidzone, Hollywood, and the Lagoon. Featured within those attractions are Jaws, Revenge of the Mummy, the Simpsons Ride, and many others. Rides like the Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit will make you lose your balance, if not your lunch. One of the best attractions is the Donkey’s Photo Finish that allows you to interact with the cast of Shrek. If you don’t want to partake of the rides, you can always visit the studios on the grounds.
Visitors who stay at one of the three on-site hotels can use their room key to access special entrances that allow you to avoid the long lines for the rides. The park also has many restaurants, such as Beverly Hills Boulangerie or Universal Studios' Classic Monsters Café, as well as gift shops, such as Universal Studios Store, Studio Sweets, It's a Wrap!, and Shrek's Ye Olde Souvenir Shoppe. Although closing times vary, the park is generally open seven days a week from 9am to 9 pm 365 days a year.
Tip:
Arrive early to avoid long waiting lines (or try to get an express pass), but stay late if you want to take advantage of less crowded coasters (after 8pm).
Also, download the Universal app from your Google/Apple store; you can reverse your virtual line, check waiting time and even order food from it!
Last but not least, pack rain ponchos – if it rains you will need them for sure.
