Villa San Michele, Capri

Villa San Michele was built by Axel Munthe on the ruins of an ancient Chapel near the end of the 19th century. Today, the building houses a museum. Villa San Michele exhibits a large number of ancient artifacts, including fragments of sarcophaguses, busts, Roman paving, as well as objects found and personally restored by Munthe. In the garden, visitors will discover a Greek tomb and granite Sphinx. Visitors will also admire a magnificent view of the Bay of Naples.
