Water Museum, Kiev

The Water Museum is an educational, as well as entertaining, institution which holds exhibitions dedicated entirely to the problem of water. Housed in a 130 year old water tower, the museum highlights all the aspects of water application, and is divided into seven zones. The first zone is devoted to surface water, water pollution and Earth’s water resources. The second zone deals with the underground water. The third zone outlines the phases through which water passes before it reaches end consumers, whereas the fourth zone tackles the problem of water management. The fifth zone exhibits toilets, basins and cisterns, as well as a basic urban sewage system. The museum's sixth zone tells about waste water and the process of its purification, whilst the seventh zone outlines different types of natural water available to man: rain, waterfall, rivers, geysers, etc. One of the key attractions in the museum is the soap bubble room where visitors can entertain themselves by blowing huge soap bubbles of different colours.

The museum was opened in 2003 and is suitable for all ages.
