Best Restaurants in Tbilisi By a Local, Tbilisi, Georgia

Georgian cuisine is very diverse, much like its landscape. Every region here has a special meal that is authentic to that area. In the capital, you can find some of these regional meals in some of the best restaurants in Tbilisi without leaving the city.

While there are plenty of suggestions on the internet, I decided to share my favorite Tbilisi restaurants. I like to go there as a local when I crave contemporary or traditional Georgian food.

Georgian food staples include Khinkali (meat dumplings), Khachapuri (cheese pie), Pkhali (vegetable appetizers with walnut paste), and Mtsvadi (grilled meat or a skewer), which can be found in pretty much every eatery.
