Kuala Lumpur’s Instagram Cafe Trail: Chow Kit, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Kuala Lumpur is definitely shaping up to be one of my favorite cafe-hopping destinations of the world. Being strategically well-connected to many parts of the world, I often find myself returning to Kuala Lumpur again and again.

While I have had my lovely share of exploring the local dining establishments around the picturesque Petaling and Chinatown area, as well as the more upscale Bangsar and Bangsar Baru area, the Chow Kit area is quickly becoming more and more interesting in my radar.

The Chow Kit neighborhood is a suburb located along the central part of Kuala Lumpur. Specifically, its core is located around Jalan Chow Kit, which is enclosed by the parallel streets of Jalan Raja Laut and Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman.

Today, this suburb is home to a large Indonesian community, so much that is sometimes dubbed as “the little Jakarta”. This suburb has now evolved into a large neighborhood worthy of a full-day exploration, especially as it surprisingly offers a wide variety of interesting Instagrammable cafes which are tantalizing to both the eyes and the taste buds. ......
