Downtown Shopping Walk (Self Guided), Arnhem

When it comes to shopping in downtown Arnhem, your options are all but limitless. The center of the city does just about everything to cater for all your shopping needs, and features department stores, the latest brands and shops selling gifts, shoes, toys, books, antiques and much more. Due to its scenic beauty and historical value, the city center was named “The Best Inner City” in 2007 and 2009.

During your visit, shop like it is your profession in stores that suit all tastes and budgets. Find yourself on the Ketelstraat, the largest shopping street in Arnhem. It has an extensive range of shops, such as drugstores, shoe shops and clothing stores. The most famous and liveliest shopping street in the area is Steenstraat, where there are specialty stores, supermarkets, cafés and restaurants. Here you can shop for men and women's fashions, art, sporting goods and items for the home. The street is also well known because of the Dutch version of the board game Monopoly. Along with the Ketelstraat and Velperplein they constitute "Arnhem".

Other popular shopping streets in the downtown area are Jansstraat and Kerkstraat. Between bouts of shopping or after you’ve checked out the stores, stop for some refreshments in one of the welcoming eateries.
