Museum d'histoire Naturelle de Dijon (Dijon Natural History Museum), Dijon

The Dijon Natural History Museum is dedicated to the exploration and preservation of natural history. Situated within the Jardin de l'Arquebuse, the museum is one of the three components that make up this scientific center, alongside the Hubert Curien Planetarium and the botanical garden of flavors and grape varieties, known as "From Origins to Tomorrow."

Established in 1836 by the naturalist Léonard Nodot, the Dijon Natural History Museum found its home in the former pavilion of Arquebuse. This historic building, constructed around 1608 as barracks for arquebusiers, now houses the museum's extensive collection and serves as a hub for scientific discovery and education.

The museum's exhibits offer visitors a captivating journey through the Earth's natural wonders, showcasing diverse ecosystems, geological formations, and a wide array of plant and animal species. The collection encompasses fossils, minerals, preserved specimens, and interactive displays, allowing visitors to explore the intricacies of the natural world.
