Polk Bros Park, Chicago
Navy Pier's front yard is marked by a dramatic, 12,500-square-foot interactive fountain with more than 250 programmable jets that artfully mimic the motion of waves, schools of fish, flocks of birds, and more. Encircled by comfortable benches, this fountain is a hit among both adults and kids. It's a good idea to bring along swimsuits and sandals for the little ones to fully savor this aquatic delight. When evening descends, the LED lighting show enhances the fountain's beauty, providing a picturesque backdrop for your photographs, regardless of when you decide to swing by.
Also built into the park are promenades and two performance lawns equipped with good sound and lighting systems, accessible to all. One of the stages overlooks the harbor, creating a captivating backdrop for the frequent performances. Be sure not to miss the lively jazz performances on the lakefront every Friday at 6:30pm during the summer months, a delightful treat for music enthusiasts.
Even in chilly winter weather, you can have a great time with interactive art installations and the ice rink, and capture some great photos while at it.
